"Our whole family just loves your "Dirty Joe the Pirate" book, and our 4 1/2-yr-old is completely smitten. Right off the bat, he asked us read it to him three times in a row! We love the cartoon-with-an-edge style illustrations, and all the surprising little 'visual extras' that Jack Davis has added to this wonderful tale. Of course we miss the stanzas that were cut from the original ballad (none of Bill Harley's words should EVER be cut!) but we are willing to accept that picture books have to be a certain length and format in order to fit the printer's needs. All in all, a fantastic success that makes us want to listen to "Blah, Blah Blah" more often, and read the book more often too. A great visual addition to one of the funniest ballads of all time.
